A new season does not need an entirely new wardrobe. This 2014 collection brings together shoes, prints, bright accessories, and beauty discoveries. Read it as an invitation to experiment with what appeals to you, rather than a list of things to buy.
Start by putting together three outfits from your own closet. Notice what is missing when you actually wear them. Perhaps a lighter bag would make an outing easier, or a different shoe would let a favorite pair of trousers work for spring. A specific need is a better starting point than a sale announcement.
Color can be a small experiment. Try a scarf, a nail color you like, or a patterned top with familiar basics. View the combination in daylight. There is no need to follow a seasonal color prediction if another shade makes you happier.
For shoes, try both feet and walk around. Check how the pair feels when you turn, stand, and sit. A photograph cannot tell you whether a strap rubs or whether you will enjoy wearing something for an afternoon.
Beauty subscription boxes deserve the same thoughtful approach. Before signing up, read the current price, renewal terms, cancellation process, and what is actually included. Consider whether you will use the products or simply enjoy opening the parcel. An occasional purchase of something you already know may suit you better.
The pleasure is in choosing deliberately. Keep the useful pieces, pass on the distractions, and leave room for a little surprise. Spring style should support your days, not give you another set of rules to follow.
Know someone who would enjoy this?
